The Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign
The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the fandom. From the one-by-one reveal of fresh additions ahead of the title's release, to players developing strong views on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
Given numerous of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique designs that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can link this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom appears as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes Aries much more akin to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of either and enjoy a powerful ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Super Form, has assisted many trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their side to the end. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Several previous official descriptions note their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it all, which is true Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Look at this total royalty. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the life of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of gossip to anyone who wants to hear. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which seems quite similar to a people-smart Gemini.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate symbol known for frequently becoming wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Fans were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the identical vibe a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a performance, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Virgo is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the emoji a Virgo sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how others are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to stress even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it became sentient through pure hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always staging a show. As a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can think of.
Capricorn – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee calamities in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to consistently believe they’re right. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-flame sign that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
