Vince Zampella, Has Died in an LA Traffic Collision
The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.
Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.
The celebrated industry figure passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a highway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts said.
